International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) Award for Outstanding International Investigative Reporting The ICIJ award honors trans-national investigative reporting. The competition is open to any professional journalist or team of journalists of any nationality working in any medium. The main criterion for eligibility is that the investigation -- either a single work or a single-subject series -- involves reporting in at least two countries on a topic of world significance. International Nieman Fellowships at Harvard University Nieman Fellowships are awarded to reporters, editors, photographers, producers, editorial writers and cartoonists, and Internet specialists with at least five years of full-time, professional experience in news media. Joan Shorenstein Fellowship on the Press, Politics and Public Policy The Joan Shorenstein Fellowship is a one-semester research fellowship at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. John S. Knight Fellowships The one-year, John S. Knight professional journalism fellowships at Stanford offer qualified, mid-career journalists the chance to broaden and deepen their understanding of a changing world. Knight Science Journalism Fellowships at MIT MIT's mid-career program is designed for experienced journalists who cover science, technology, medicine or the environment, or journalists who wish to prepare themselves to cover these fields. MISA Scholarship for Southern African Journalists The program offers individuals working in all areas of the media -- including managerial, editorial, advertising and technical sectors -- the opportunity to work in different media institutions to learn new skills and develop existing ones. Nieman Fellowships in Global Health Reporting Three Nieman Fellowships in Global Health Reporting will be available for the 2007 to 2008 academic year. One fellowship will go to a U.S. citizen, one to a citizen of a European Union nation, and one to a journalist from a developing country. Application Deadline: January 31, 2007
Ramnath Goenka Awards for Excellence in Journalism -- Excellence in Reporting on HIV/AIDS This award recognizes Indian print media in English and Marathi and will be given to an author of an article or series that makes a contribution to awareness and understanding of HIV/AIDS issues.
