| | | Update | | | | Funding for project developed on course | | | .JPG) | | Sonya Stewart, radio and TV producer at CVM Communications Group, in Jamaica, wins funding for HIV campaign developed on Health and Media course in Trinidad. | | |
| Those of you who have attended our Health and Media in-country course will recall the health programme, feature, or campaign "pitch" you had to develop (in small groups) and present on the final day. The idea being that you would take these ideas back to your newspaper - or radio or TV station - for further development. Some of these ideas have ended up as feature articles, and radio and TV programmes.
Funding Now, Sonya Stewart, with the support of CVM Communications President, David Mcbean, has "pitched" her group's idea to a regional Caribbean HIV funding organisation. The project, entitled, "Sparking the Consciousness", an HIV awarness and behavioural change campaign, incorporating two documentaries, on air spots, and a televised discussion forum and conference, has now received some solid funding.
More funds needed This is a big project and more funds will be needed before it can go-ahead, so, if you can assist, send me an email and I will forward your email over to Sonya.
More details I have included more details on this campaign at the bottom of this update.
Congratulations to all involved in this campaign and I look forward to hearing more.
We're getting fancy Yes, now when you send along a paragraph or two on a developing health issue in your region it will be put on the Health and Media website straight away, then catalogued and archived with an option for readers to comment - "blog style"...a link to your article will be created on our home page, and (wait for this...) you can now subscribe to an RSS feed of these and other Health and Media website updates. You can visit this new section of the Health and Media site here: http://healthandmedia.blogspot.com/
Go on.. have a look.
And, If that isn't enough to impress, the new look website should have gasping in awe (... though, I haven't finished that bit yet).
