| + Want to find HIV/Aids fieldwork in Africa |
| Mariah Carroll, graduate student, USA |
I am a graduate student at the University of Minnesota and I am studying health journalism.
For my final project I would like to develop a photojournalism piece based on international field experience. I was doing research on your web site and I wanted to know if you have any suggestions for finding short term field work in Africa relating to HIV/AIDS. I know it will be difficult to capture the story with photos so I'm open to other public health issues that exist in Africa.
Can you offer me any suggestions/opportunities to help get me started on my final project? |

| + Update on Sickle Cell Fund |
| Lucky Lukiah Mulumba, Registered Nurse, Texas, USA |
Hello every one!
Despite of the sickness at our home, and the sudden death of my mother in law; I have managed to attend the three day conference. The first day was the hardest since I was up late comforting my husband.
Each of the 250 conference participants received our "Uganda-American Sickle Cell Rescue Fund" information brochures.
The pastor and other participants were very moved by my presentation! ( I wish you could have heard me: my voice was escalating to the roof as I spoke about the assistance needed for suffers in Uganda).
Total in donations so far: $US 1,500 |
