    HIV Denialists Spread Misinformation Online
    The Internet is serving as a fertile medium for "HIV denialists" to spread false ideas about HIV/AIDS, which could have terrible public health consequences, say scientists in a policy paper in PLoS Medicine.

    Innovative Fish Farming Project For HIV+
    Scientists at The World Fish Center reported today that an innovative project to encourage fish farming among families affected by HIV/AIDS in Malawi has doubled the income for 1,200 households and greatly increased fish and vegetable consumption among rural communities.


    New Estimates Show Lower HIV in India
    Some 2.5 million people in India have HIV, according to recent new 2006 estimates released by the National AIDS Control Organization, supported by UNAIDS and the World Health Organization. This figure is less than half the earlier estimate of 5.7 million people with HIV, which would have been the largest caseload in the world.

    Over 50s do just as well on HIV treatment
    Older HIV-positive patients are just as likely as younger HIV-positive individuals to experience good increases in their CD4 cell count and achieve adequate falls in their viral load after starting potent antiretroviral therapy. French investigators report in the September 1st edition of Clinical Infectious Diseases.
