| The greatest writing tip of all time? |
 | | | A group of top journalism trainers were asked to come up with the best tip to pass on to aspiring journalists - what they consider the greatest writing tip of all time. You may agree, but I wouldn't bet on it. Scroll to the bottom, to find out. | |
| | | | | | | | No it's not, "read", although that comes close to the top. This article is a few years old but I thought you may be interested. If you think you have a better tip to better writing, by all means, send it in to: hm1@healthandmedia.net |

| Well, I've revamped the website, yet again. I keep learning new things about design, compatibility, and discover more and more flaws - it's driving me crazy. |
| Having said that, this version should be a lot more user-friendly (I said that last time too), and a little easier to read for those who have difficulty making out small print. |
| Now I have to figure out how to incorporate a database programme into the site... don't hold your breath it's going to take me a while and, I would imagine, a few misguided attempts. |
| If you are having problems on any area of the site, or would like to advise and/or suggest content, style, or whatever - send me an email. |
| So, have a look and see if you can make sense of it all: |

| 5. The greatest writing tip of all time? |
| |
| Read the "lead" for an article. Now ask, "does this sentence make you want to read the next sentence and the rest of the story?" |
| Go through a series of articles, reading only the "lead". After you read the "lead", vote as a group on whether you are enticed to read the rest of the story. Talk about what it does (or doesn't do) that draws you into the story. |
